In their return to Milton Court, the Barbican's chamber music space, the Fourth Choir's Songs of Transcendence concert will celebrates notable trans figures from past and present. The programme will feature historical and contemporary a cappella music, particularly showcasing works by living trans composers.
The Fourth Choir is a chamber choir established in 2013 with the aim of representing the LGBTQ+ community on London’s classical music scene. Since then, the Choir has performed at many of London’s iconic cultural venues, including the Wigmore Hall, King’s Place, Heaven and the Royal Albert Hall. 2025 was a year of important firsts for the Choir including their debut at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, their first live broadcast on Radio 3 and the release of their first album, Songs of Ourselves.
