Opera double bill featuring the iconic kinky duo Operotica
It's camp, it's queer and cult, and it's bringing all the chaos back to Shoreditch, Summer in The Ditch returns to Shoreditch Town Hall after two successful years.
This year they're going bigger and bolder than ever with an epic opera double bill featuring the iconic kinky duo Operotica and upcoming queer artist, Edie Bailey with two genre-defying acts.
Operotica featuring Séayoncé's Lovers in Every Lifetime. The UK’s premier classically trained kinky opera duo are, as of yesterday, dead. Their bodies are cold, but their spirits are restless. Join psychic extraordinaire Séayoncé for a journey through Operotica's many past lives. From star-crossed nuns to 18th-century ladies-in-waiting, will the story of these lovers after death be the greatest (and sexiest) ever told? Witness a haunting that will tear down the opera house and transport you through time.
Edie Bailey' Pteridomania. A queer opera set amidst the 19th Century fern hunting craze that follows a forbidden relationship that flourishes between two women in the safety of the forest. Created by a collective of queer, gender non-conforming artists, Pteridomania reimagines opera as collaborative, radical and non-hierarchical, focussing on untold histories of queerness.
