Mozart from memory in Aurora Orchestra’s debut gig at Bristol’s new cultural space, The Prospect Building

In Aurora Orchestra’s first collaboration with through the noise, we perform Mozart from memory in our debut gig at Bristol’s new cultural space, The Prospect Building.

We perform Mozart’s final Symphony – his final, most sublime orchestral statement. “I’ve never seen an orchestra take so much ownership over a performance” was Bachtrack’s response to Aurora’s 2016 BBC Proms performance of Mozart’s Jupiter from memory. A majestic work fizzing with so many ideas that Mozart seems barely able to fit them all in.

Freedom, communication and energy: we perform from memory, drawing you closer into Mozart’s triumphant final symphony. Introduced from the stage by the performers themselves, the musicians, led by our conductor Nicholas Collon, offer personal insights and walk you through the symphony’s story as it unfolds. The result is an experience that feels closer to a gig: dynamic, intimate, conversational, and alive in the moment.

This collaboration with producers through the noise, known for melding the tradition of classical music with standing gig formats across the UK, brings together a shared vision of inviting audiences to experience classical music with shared joy, catharsis, and a connection to a distant time and place.
